Really beautiful place to visit, with plenty of areas to explore! It is recommended to pay a little extra for the guided tour. We thought it was fascinating and it was really nice to see all the different rooms. Both impressive historically and visually. Overall recommended!

Museum Tot Zover is a small museum. It organizes exhibitions on the topic ‘death’ and more specifically ‘funerals’. This makes it a very special, interesting museum. It is located outside the centre of Amsterdam, but is easily reachable by tram or buses. Recommended if you fancy something different than standard art or local history.

The Wereldmuseum (World Museum) in Rotterdam is quite small, but it features a great collection. They exhibit objects from a wide variety of civilizations. Among others, they feature collections from Africa, the Americas, Asia and Oceania. It is a bit pricey (15 euros) but still really recommended!

A museum for the kids, with interactive games. They totally loved it. For me it was quite all right. So without kids it’s quite interesting. If you have kids, bring them, they’ll love their time there.

Frans Hals is an excpetional artist! He belongs to the Famous 17/18th century group of Dutch painters. We learned a lot about this artist and his work. The museum displays a nice variation of his art. Look for the combined ticket with the Teylers Museum!

Diergaarde Blijdorp is one of the better zoos I have visited. The zoo is very family and in particular child-friendly. A ticket is a bit pricey and it’s a little crowded inside (it was sunny when we visited).

The best zoo we’ve ever visited! I am not a fan of animals in small cages, but in this zoo all animals have enough space. Worth the visit for kids as well as adults.

Not worth the price, it is mostly a good marketing tool for Heineken. Pretty crowded and a slow tour: tourist trap.

The Hortus Botanicus is a nice oasis of calm in the busy city centre of Amsterdam. It is a little on the small side, but that didn’t really bother me too much. A visit is a good way to spend some time away from the noisy city centre.

The Rembrandthuis is Rembrandt's house as it was when he lived there. If you're interested in an artist's house, then this is a great museum. It was very interesting to be able to walk in the house where a big painter as Rembrandt lived.

Not the most famous museum in Amsterdam, but still really worth a visit. The museum does changing exhibitions, so I guess it depends on the exhibition how ‘good’ the museum is. I would definitely go again.

The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam is very impressive. It’s very huge so you’re going to need some time to view it properly. If you’re not interested in art, history or art history, don’t bother going. If those topics do interest you, you should definitely visit the Rijks!

My favourite museum in Amsterdam. If you’re interested in modern art, be sure to go here. I enjoyed it very much. Also be sure to check out the museum shop. Well worth the visit as well!

An interesting and interactive museum, without it being childish or annoying (which normally is the case with interactive museums). Great to visit if you want to learn more about Amsterdam!

If your'e planning to visit the Netherlands, be sure to also visit the Zaanse Schans. We came here by bus, from Amsterdam and it is definitely worth spending half a day here (or more). Recommended!

Very nice museum with beautiful work by Vincent van Gogh, paired with his life story. Both interesting and engaging. The only drawback is the long queue to get in. I would definitely recommend going here if you’re visiting Amsterdam!
