De Monto & District Historical Society is een gemeenschapsorganisatie die zich inzet voor het behouden en delen van de geschiedenis van Monto en het omringende district. Ze beheren het Monto Historical and Cultural Centre, dat beschikt over een museum met historische displays, een cultureel centrum met fototentoonstellingen en een werkende goudstempelaar. De vereniging ondersteunt ook actief andere lokale groepen en evenementen, zoals de Monto Markets en de Monto Performing Arts Group.

    What an incrediable collection of historical items of Monto and its past. you can wander around and get up close to the displays. the centre has great parking, and it has a website that gives you information on the displays. So worth a visit. https://montohistorycentre.wixsite.com/home
