The Hill with the Lion is located on the Battlefield of Waterloo where on 15 June 1815 the French and English troops fought against each other. The Panorama of the Battle of Waterloo is on display in a circular building located next to the visitor center. The building displays the work painted by Louis Dumoulin in 1912 to celebrate the first centenary of the battle. The work has a circumference of 110 meters and a height of 12 meters. The panorama depicts a key moment of the battle, in the heat of the moment.
